On the following pages, we pay tribute to the breadth and depth of our members’ skills and abilities in different areas, and the influence they bring to bear across society.

Reading about our members’ accomplishments and contributions is humbling. Whether it’s delivering evidence at select committees, providing feedback to consultations, elucidating and disseminating information in the fight against the pandemic or supporting the IFoA Foundation, our members continue to hold true to the spirit and decree of our Royal Charter to work in the public interest.

The world is an uncertain place at the moment, but as we grapple with increasingly complex and diverse problems, it is professionals like our members who will bring their skillset and capabilities to bear in the resolution to many of these issues. We are grateful for the calm heads, depth of understanding, skill set and expertise actuaries offer. Their ability to assess risk over the long term, to understand the impact of uncertainty and to navigate pathways through precarious conditions are skills that are needed now more than ever.

Our Impact Report cannot do justice to everything our members have accomplished. However, we hope it reaffirms your pride in the profession and in all you have achieved over the last year, in service to society.
