Together we supported younger colleagues with the IFoA Foundation

We are proud and delighted that the summer of 2020 saw the launch of the IFoA Foundation, bringing together the profession’s previous charities.

This new Foundation has three objectives:

Rewarding excellence

Supporting our community

Addressing future challenges

In a testament to the generosity of you, our supporters, who share our vision and commitment to increasing access and inclusion within the profession, the Foundation is already making a positive impact, with a number of grant-giving programmes now underway.

It is also working It is also working in partnership with the Actuarial Academy of East Africa to support actuarial students in that region.

Following the untimely death of IFoA Council member Mahidhara Davangere earlier this year, the Foundation has created the Mahidhara Davangere South Asia Scholarship Fund to help promising actuarial students in South Asia, as a tribute to the memory of our former colleague and friend.

With the support of Principal Philanthropist Dr Patrick Sun Cheong Poon, the IFoA Foundation’s China and South-East Asia Fund aims to provide bursaries to actuarial students in the region.

The Foundation is immensely grateful to all of its founding patrons, who share a vision for the positive impact actuaries can make in the world.
